The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has released an updated version of its Employer Form.

As of April 10, the ‘Application for Approval of Employment Position’ form must be used for all new applications for a nomination to the Employer: Job Offer stream of the Provincial Nominee Program.

“If you upload an older version of the form, we will return your application as incomplete and refund your fee,” the OINP said.

Employer Job Offer Stream Eligibility Requirements

Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream

To qualify under this stream, applicants must have:

  • A permanent and full-time job offer under NOC TEER category 1, 2 or 3 that meets the median wage levels for Ontario, and in a position that is necessary to the business;
    • For those already working in the position, the proposed wage must be equal or greater than the current wage being paid
  • Two cumulative years of relevant work experience in the previous five years before the date of application;
  • Relevant mandatory licensing in Ontario, if the position so requires;
  • Live abroad, or be working, studying or visiting Canada on a valid permit;
  • Intention to settle in Ontario.

Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream

To qualify under this stream, applicants must have:

  • A permanent and full-time job offer under NOC TEER category 1, 2 or 3, Skill Type 0 or Skill Levels A or B that meets low wage levels for Ontario, and in a position that is necessary to the business;
    • For those already working in the position, the proposed wage must be equal to or greater than the current wage being paid
  • Either
    • Graduated or met requirements of a full-time minimum two-year degree from a publicly-funded Canadian college or university; OR
    • Graduated or met requirements of a full-time minimum one-year post-graduate diploma program from a publicly-funded Canadian college or university.
  • Completed at least half the studies in Canada;
  • Apply within two years from the date you completed the above course
  • Legal status in Ontario
  • Intention to settle in Ontario.

Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream

This stream targets candidates with specific skilled in-demand in Ontario. To qualify, applicants must have:

  • A permanent and full-time job offer under certain occupations in the agriculture or construction sector and meets the median wage in Ontario for the occupation (see table below), and in a position that is necessary to the business.
    • For those already working in the position, the proposed wage must be equal to or greater than the current wage being paid.
  • 9 months of cumulative work experience in the last three years in one of the eligible occupations. Experience must be paid and full time or the equivalent amount in part-time work in Ontario.
    • Seasonal work does not count.
  • Equivalent of Canadian high school education or higher.
  • Valid certificate or license at the time of application for any claimed work experience that requires it.
  • Minimum CLB/NCLC 4 in English or French in all language competencies.
  • Live abroad, or be working, studying or visiting Canada on a valid permit;
  • Intention to settle in Ontario.

Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream: 8 Occupations Eligible In Any Location

  1. NOC 44101 – Home support workers, caregivers and related occupations
  2. NOC 75110 – Construction trades helpers and labourers
  3. NOC 84120 – Specialized livestock workers and farm machinery operators
  4. NOC 85100 – Livestock labourers
  5. NOC 85101 – Harvesting labourers
  6. NOC 85103 – Nursery and greenhouse labourers
  7. NOC 94141 – Industrial butchers and meat cutters, poultry preparers and related workers
  8. NOC 65202 – Meat cutters and fishmongers – retail and wholesale

Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream: 14 Occupations Eligible Outside GTA Only

  1. NOC 94100 – Machine operators, mineral and metal processing
  2. NOC 94105 – Metalworking and forging machine operators
  3. NOC 94106 – Machining tool operators
  4. NOC 94107 – Machine operators of other metal products
  5. NOC 94110 – Chemical plant machine operators
  6. NOC 95102 – Labourers in chemical products processing and utilities
  7. NOC 94111 – Plastics processing machine operators
  8. NOC 94124 – Woodworking machine operators
  9. NOC 94132 – Industrial sewing machine operators
  10. NOC 94140 – Process control and machine operators, food and beverage processing
  11. NOC 94201 – Electronics assemblers, fabricators, inspectors and testers
  12. NOC 94204 – Mechanical assemblers and inspectors
  13. NOC 94213 – Industrial painters, coaters and metal finishing process operators
  14. NOC 94219 – Other products assemblers, finishers and inspectors
